Rob Eggert was elected Sheriff of Miner County in 2019.  Prior to that he served as Chief Deputy in Miner County from 2000-2019, and as a Deputy in Minnehaha County from 1989-2000.  Rob graduated from Augustana College in 1989 with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and the South Dakota Law Enforcement Academy after being hired by Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office in 1989. 
Sheriff Eggert has two full time deputies and one part time deputy.  Miner county has an estimated population of 1,800 people.  Rob stays active in his community through involvement in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Howard Fire Department, and Miner County Ambulance. Rob has also been a D.A.R.E/Empower instructor since 1992.  In his spare time Rob enjoys spending time with friends and family, fishing, camping, hunting, golfing, grilling/smoking food, and helping area farmers.  Rob and his wife Jill are the parents of five children and four grandchildren.
