Steve Manger took office as Lyman County Sheriff in January of 2011. Sheriff Manger started in law enforcement in 2000 by becoming a reserve Deputy Sheriff with the Lyman County Sheriff's Office. He then became a full time Deputy in January of 2002 and was later promoted to Chief Deputy in 2005 were he served until taking over as Sheriff in January 2011. Steve also serves as the Lyman County Emergency Management Director which he has done since being hired as a Deputy in 2002. Sheriff Manger became a first responder in June of 1992 when he became a member of the Kennebec Volunteer Fire Department where he currently holds the rank of Captain. He also has been a member of the Lyman County Ambulance Service since 1996. He started out as an ambulance driver then in 1999 he made the decision to become an EMT in which he still retains his certification. Sheriff Manger is also a member of the South Dakota Sheriff’s Association and the National Sheriff’s Association. As Sheriff of Lyman County, Steve oversees a staff of four employees including three sworn Deputy Sheriffs. |
