Sheriff Rich Sylva was sworn in as the Jones County Sheriff on October 1st, 2018.  He became a deputy sheriff in Jones County in 2005 working there until he was sworn in as Sheriff.  Rich has also been a member of the Murdo Fire Department since 1991 and has served as the Fire Chief for over 20 plus years.
