Sheriff Kevin Owen took office in January 2011.  Previously he spent 10 years in law enforcement with the South Dakota Highway Patrol and Grant County Sheriff’s Office.  Sheriff Owen has a Bachelor of Science Degree from SDSU in Sociology with minors in Psychology and Criminal Justice.  Kevin is also active in the law enforcement community as a member of the South Dakota Sheriffs’ Association, the National Sheriffs’ Association, and Fraternal Order of Police.  Sheriff Owen is also a graduate of the Rural Executive Management Institute.
